Nettie Bea Childers, age 83, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at her home in Clay City, Kentucky. She was born in Winchester to the late Virgil Rowland and the late Fannie Hall Rowland. Nettie was a devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and a cherished member of the First Presbyterian Church in Stanton, where she dedicated over two decades of her life in service to her faith and community. As an inspector claims examiner at the Bluegrass Army Depot, she approached her work with diligence and integrity, ensuring that every detail was meticulously handled. In addition to her family and travels, Nettie was deeply committed to her community. She played an active role in the Powell County Tourism Commission, promoting local attractions and boosting tourism efforts. Her leadership skills shone brightly during her tenure as both President and Secretary of the Clay City Lions Club, where she tirelessly worked to support various initiatives and improve the lives of those around her. Nettie’s spirit of service and love for her family and community will always be remembered. In addition to her parents, Nettie is preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Dal Childers; two brothers, Junior Hisle and Ray Rowland; and four sisters: Geatta Reffett, Minnie Gilley, Effie Henry, and Maudie Siebokrob.
