Pauline Davis Billings-Tuttle

Pauline “Polly” Davis Billings-Tuttle, 92, longtime resident of Stanton, KY, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at Legacy Reserve in Lexington surrounded by her family. Born on October 17, 1930 she was the daughter of the late William and Madge Davis. Polly was a graduate of Powell County High School and an active member of her community. She served on several boards and committees including the Kentucky Retail Federation, Powell County Industrial Foundation, Clark Rural Electric, Peoples Exchange Bank, Stanton Woman’s Club, MEPCO Home Health, and Hospice East. She was instrumental in the building of the Powell County Public Library, where she was responsible for raising funds for the new building and operating costs.  She is survived by her daughter: Ruth Anglin Billings; her son: Casey Davis Billings (Gayle Buchanan); son-in-law: Dallas Pelfrey; granddaughter: Mary Elizabeth Pelfrey (Ethan Huffaker); and sister: Beverley Bowen (Damon). Polly was preceded in death by her daughter: Rebecca Billings Pelfrey; her husbands: the Honorable B.E. Billings and Fred Tuttle; son-in-law: Charles A. Caudill; siblings: William “Junebug” Davis Jr., Exie Davis Minton, and Cecil Davis. Funeral Services, officiated by Jeff Fields, will be held at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 16, 2023 also at Hearne Funeral Home and 11:00 A.M. until service time on Friday. Burial will take place at Stanton Cemetery with Faron Davis, Jesse Davis, Tausckii Tipton, Brian Billings, Jamison Pendergrass and Jeff Fields serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are DeEtta Blackwell, JoeAnn Dove, Harriet Winegar, Laurie Lanier, Nancy Mohr, Sue Bell and Bill Cobb, Steve Billings, Anne Billings Burgess, Patty Gordon, Hondo Hearne, Linda Rogers, Bill Cress, James Ed Dennis, Mike and Vicki Reed, Barry and Stephanie Cornett, Terry Gabbard, David and Lorna Baker, Mickey Tipton, the PCHS class of 1948, and all former employees of Billings Insurance, All-n-All, and Billings Drugs. The family would like to extend special thanks to Polly’s caregivers: Kelly Thomas, Angie Richardson, and Lisa Anthony.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to EKU’s Becky Pelfrey Memorial Scholarship fund (521 Lancaster Ave, Richmond, KY 40475) or the Friends of the Powell County Public Library (725 Breckenridge Street, Stanton, KY 40380).
