Pauline Lane, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stanton, Kentucky. She was born May 24, 1941, to the late Harvey Ballard and the late Dena Bond Ballard. Pauline cherished her family and radiated warmth and kindness. Her gentle spirit was often complemented by a surprisingly quick wit that brought laughter to those around her. In her youth, Pauline found joy in reading, immersing herself in captivating stories. In her later years, she delighted in the camaraderie of playing Bingo at the nursing center, where laughter and friendly competition filled her days with joy. In addition to her parents, Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, Oren J. Lane; two sons: Oren Lane and Dwight Lane; two brothers: Carl Ballard and William Ballard; one sister, Anna Howard; and two grandchildren: Logan Profitt and Jessica Lynn Lane. She is survived by one son, Richard (Sharon) Lane of Clay City; one daughter: Charlotte (Keith) Profitt of Stanton; one brother, Everett Ballard of Clay City; six grandchildren: Patricia Marie Lane, Amanda (D.J.) Hart, Megan (Chris) Knox, Cheyenne (Michael) Cox, Josh (Mara) Branham, and Steven (Candace) Branham; her granddaughter-in-law: Sarah Profitt; fifteen great-grandchildren: Crosby Cox, Wandella Paige Profitt, Stevie Branham, Jansen Branham, Mason Branham, Zoey Robinson, Makenzie Barnett, Jackson Barnett, Floyd Lawson, Sophie Knox, Hana Knox, Christopher Knox, Teghan Knox, Carter Hart, and Anthony Hart. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home immediately following at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be at Lane Cemetery with Michael Cox, Carl Ballard, Josh Branham, Keith Profitt, Jimmy Barnett, Chris Knox, Mason Branham, and Jackson Barnett serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Thelma Snowden, Steven Branham, Dustin Watkins, Jesse Hale, the staff of Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and the staff of Hospice East. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
