Phillip Denny Frazier

Phillip Denny Frazier, age 72, of Clay City, KY entered into the kingdom of Heaven on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was the beloved husband of 53 years to Vivian Ratliff Frazier. Born in Furnace, KY on October 18, 1950, he was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Frazier and Katherine Frazier of Clay City. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patty Neal of Clay City. Phillip was a lifelong servant of the public serving in many different law enforcement roles. He retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement officer holding during his career the positions of Sargent, Captain and finally Major. Phillip served as a Park Ranger for the State of Kentucky, was Chief of Police for Clay City, police officer for the City of Stanton and currently served in the position of Trial Commissioner for District Judge Gary Salyers. He was a founding member and former President of the Red River Lodge #70 of the Fraternal Order of Police remaining active in the organization for 23 years assisting and organizing the Cops and Kids program every year. Phillip was an avid Powell County Athletics supporter, attended the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church in Clay City and was a former member of the U.S. Army. He loved his family and his grandchildren dearly and was known for treating everyone with respect and kindness. Most of all he was a proud Christian who was not ashamed to share his faith. Visitation will be held at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue in Stanton from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. Funeral service officiated by Bro. Sammy Faulkner and eulogy presented by Greg Howard will be conducted on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home as well. Burial will be held in the Phillip D. Frazier Cemetery in Clay City, with Jailer Teddy Lacy, Lieutenant Billy Rice, Sergeant Ian Morton, Major Nathan Day, Officer Jonathan Blevins and Chief Grant Faulkner serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Beverly and Dennis Baker, Shannon Pasley, Johnny Cook, Billie Campbell, Judge Gary Salyers and Steve Rogers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
