Phyllis Kinser Faulkner, age 88, widow of Paul D. Faulkner of North Main Street, Stanton, KY passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Clark Regional Medical Center. Born in Bowen, KY she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Loretta Farmer Kinser. Phyllis was a retired 3rd grade school teacher at Stanton Elementary School and also worked for the Head Start program in Powell County for some time. She was a member of the Stanton Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Phyllis served on the Clark Energy Cooperative Board of Directors, was a Hospice volunteer, and a member of The Red Hat Society. Phyllis had a great passion for vegetable and flower gardening. She loved to can her vegetables and was known as a great cook.  Along with her husband and her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her brother, Forest Kinser and her sister Vada Edwards. She is survived by two daughters: Terry (Steve) Martin and Sharon (Steven) Mallory both of Stanton; 5 grandchildren: Lauren (Tony) Campbell, Paul (MacKenzi) Mallory, Kyle (Allie) Thacker, Stephen (Dallie) Martin, and Kendall (Lori) Martin; 8 great-grandchildren: Liam Campbell, Elliot Campbell, Madeline Campbell, Hudson Campbell, Preston Martin, Whitney Martin, Memphis Martin and Meadow Martin; and two nieces Patty Neal and Debbie Kays. The family would like to give a special thank you to caregivers: Bessie Watkins, Bobbi Brady, Ronda McCarroll, and Montana Kocher. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue in Stanton.  Funeral services officiated by Brother Bill Boldt with eulogies by Lauren Campbell and Paul Mallory will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening. A private interment will take place at Stanton Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
