Ricky Boswell

Ricky Lynn Boswell, age 57, husband of Jessica Scott Boswell, of Mt. Sterling passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Baptist Health Lexington. Born in Mt. Sterling on July 22, 1965, he was the son of Richard Boswell and  Brenda Skidmore Hughes. Ricky was an excellent carpenter and construction worker working for several different businesses and finishing his career at Lowe’s Home Improvement. He was a former member of the Northfork Bowhunters Club, the Meadowgreen Music Hall Board and the Middlefork Fire Department. Ricky was an outstanding deer hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed playing golf and loved to make friends. Ricky is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Daniel Boone Skidmore and Elsie Arnold Skidmore; stepfather, Danny E. Hughes and two uncles: James E. Skidmore and Paul G. Skidmore. Along with his wife and his parents he is survived by two sons: Daniel Boswell of Stanton and Joshua Garrett of Nevada; three daughters: Megan (Kelsie) Boswell of Stanton, Ashley (Matt Taulbee) Garrett and Jaidyn Hall both of Mt. Sterling; two brothers: Millard “Cherrio” Boswell and Robert Shawn “Bob” Bailey both of Stanton; two sisters: Melinda (Allen) Moore and Kathy Thacker both of Stanton and two grandchildren: Jaxson Taulbee and Trace Taulbee. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue in Stanton. Funeral services officiated by Brother Steven Donithan will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening as well at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers are Shawn Skidmore, Rick Tyre, Millard “Cherrio” Boswell, Robert “Bob” Bailey, Glenn Crabtree, Brannon Hamm, Carlos Rice, Woody Martin, Joe Back, Andre Oldham, Todd Richardson, Jerome Bruner, Rick Davis, Scott Wilson, Mark White, Jeff Tyre, Sammy Strong, Thomas C. Bailey, Kevin Brown, Hyman Oaks, Tommy Scott, Chris Maloney and Tiger Goble. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
