Sarah Elizabeth Willoughby

Sarah Elizabeth Willoughby, age 86, departed her earthly life for her heavenly home on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stanton, Kentucky. She was born on December 3, 1938, in Clay City, Kentucky, to the late Rev. Rex Townsend and the late Illa Mae James Townsend. In addition to her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by her husband, Arcie Lee Willoughby; one brother, Claude Townsend; and one sister, Alta Benningfield. She is survived by one son, Jeffrey Lee (Janie) Willoughby; four daughters: Faith Oberg, Hope (Kenny) Scott, Patiance Justice, and Charity (David) Parks; one sister, Diana Townsend; ten grandchildren: Colin (Amanda) Faulkner, Lauren (Robbie Dunn) Faulkner, Candace (K.J.) Hampton, Zachary Garrison, Rex Scott, Owen Parks, Lindsey Willoughby, Elizabeth Frazier, Cameron Justice, and Kristen Justice; seven great-grandchildren: Hayden Faulkner, Graham Faulkner, Elliott Faulkner, Lillian Dunn, Kennedy Hampton, Blair Frazier, and Kobe Hernandez. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Kenny Wasson will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Burial will be at Townsend Family Cemetery with Jeffrey Willoughby, Colin Faulkner, Zachary Garrison, Rex Scott, Owen Parks, and Cameron Justice serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Darrel Ray “Ernie” Faulkner, the staff of Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and the staff of Hospice East. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
