Cecil Thomas “Tom” Puckett, age 87, husband of Geraldine Crabtree Puckett, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, in Corbin, Kentucky. He was born in Clay City, Kentucky, on April 27, 1936, to the late Omer Puckett and the late Ivra Beatrice Abney Puckett. Tom was a truck driver, a United States Army veteran, and a Clay City First Church of God member. He had a beautiful bass voice and enjoyed singing Southern Gospel music. Tom was a kind and gentle person who always prioritized the needs of others. He was also passionate about breeding and raising dogs. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Tonja Puckett; three brothers: James Puckett, Larry Puckett and Virden Puckett and one sister, Wilma Gene Puckett. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Tommy (Susan) Puckett of Clay City and Jed (Tammy) Puckett of Stanton; one daughter, Tammy Puckett of Clay City; two step-daughters: Tammra (Chris) Routson of Findlay, OH, and Larrietta (Bill) Elliotte of Corbin; three sisters: Joan Hall, Gearlene (Lenwell) Pasley and Maxine O’Hair, all of Clay City; four grandchildren: Tara Puckett, Travis Puckett, Laryn Puckett and Krana Puckett; five step-grandchildren: Christopher Routson, Reed Elliotte, Stephen (Samantha) Adams, Chase Southwood and Taylor Southwood; two great-grandchildren: Cameron McIntosh and Lily Dailey; and two step-great-grandchildren: Raegan Adams and Emeryson Adams. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services officiated by Brother Bill Carpenter will be held at the funeral home immediately following visitation on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be held at Sissy’s Garden Cemetery in West Bend with military honors with Jed Puckett, Tommy Puckett, Kyle O’Hair, Chris Boyd, Gary Spurrell, Christopher Routson and Reed Elliotte serving as active pallbearers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
