Thomas Lynn Knox

Thomas Lynn “Tommy” Knox, age 62, of Stanton, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024. He was born in Stanton on July 16, 1962, to the late Tom Knox and the late Retha Spencer. Tommy felt an immense sense of pride reflecting on the four transformative years he dedicated to serving his country in the U.S. Navy, embracing the challenges and camaraderie of military life. Known for his infectious sense of humor, he had a special talent for brightening the days of those around him, always armed with a funny story that could bring a smile to anyone’s face. Tommy had a passion for automobiles, eagerly attending car shows as often as possible and finding joy in tinkering and working on cars. His generous spirit shone through in his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Tommy’s blend of humor, skill, and kindness made him a cherished presence in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Diane Gilbert Tackett, and one nephew, Chris Townsend. Tommy is survived by one son, Joshua Thomas (Metia) Knox of Irvine; one daughter, Kristen LeeAnna Knox of Clay City; two sisters, Deloris Gilbert (Roy) Townsend of Stanton and Charlinda Knox Davis of Lexington; one step grandchild, Caleb Conrad; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Memorial services will be held at the funeral home at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, immediately following. Honorary pallbearers are Josh Knox, Shawn Rogers, Benny Bishop, Danny Epperson, Charles Reed, Andy Watkins, Roger Chui, Steven Harris, and Mike Cain. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
