Vickie Rice

Vickie Lynn Rice, age 70, of Stanton, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023, in Stanton. Born in Viper, Kentucky on June 19, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Clark Rice and the late Joyce Ann Sullivan Rice. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one grandchild, Daniel Shadoe Duran Billings. She was a wonderful grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a green thumb and was excellent at growing and arranging flowers. She was a great talker, never meeting a stranger and never judged anyone. Vickie is survived by one son: Ryon (Kimberly) Stewart of Clay City; four daughters: Connie (Billy) Grimes of Owingsville, Tonia (J.R.) Snowden of Stanton, Heather (Jared) Smith of Mt. Sterling and Jessica (Brian) Johnson of Louisville; two brothers: Tony (Kaye) Rice of Stanton and Scott (Sherry) Rice of Hazard; one sister, Sharlene (Mike) Mains of Indiana; nine grandchildren: Natoshia Snowden, Hunter Stewart, Haeleigh Jones, Chance Snowden, Gage Grimes, Austin Napier, Dawson Boyd, Blakesley Stewart and Brinleigh Stewart and four great-grandchildren: Jace Stewart, Kaison Snowden, Klayton Snowden and Sadie Jae Stewart. Funeral services officiated by Mary Shepherd will be conducted on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 12:00 P.M. at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue in Stanton. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rice and Caudill Cemetery in Scuddy with Hunter Stewart, Chance Snowden, Gage Grimes, Austin Napier, Dawson Boyd, and Jace Stewart serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Kaison Snowden, Klayton Snowden and the late Daniel Shadoe Duran Billings. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home, Inc. of Stanton.
