Wanda Faye Cunningham

Wanda Faye Tolson Cunningham, age 87, widow of Robert L. Cunningham, of Stanton, Kentucky passed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, July 31, 2023, at the CHI St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling. Wanda was born in Campton, Kentucky on July 31, 1936, to the late Dorsey and Eula Bailey Tolson. Wanda had many public service jobs in her life including clerk for the City of Stanton Water, secretary for KY Department of Social Services, kindergarten aid at Stanton Elementary, and was also employed at KY River Foothills. Her most loved job was being a mother and a homemaker. She was very active in the Stanton First Presbyterian Church. She loved her friends and her furry friends dearly. She loved her family; her grandsons were her world. Along with her husband and parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her son, Francis Cunningham; three brothers: D.C. Tolson, Robert Tolson and Jack Tolson; two sisters: Kathleen Woodward and China Spencer; one brother-in-law, Marion Spencer and one sister-in-law Sylvia Tolson. She is survived by her daughter Lynne (Stacy) Stidham of Stanton; her two grandsons: R.J. (Kaitlyn) Stidham and Riley Stidham; and one sister-in-law, Donna Tolson. Visitation will begin at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue in Stanton.  Memorial services officiated by Pastors Chad and Felsha Foster will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday evening as well. Burial will be held at Stanton Cemetery. Family has requested donations be made to Friends of Powell County’s Pets in lieu of flowers - FOPCP, P.O. Box 474, Stanton, KY 40380. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
