Wendell Clinton Creech, age 84, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2025, at his home in Rogers, Kentucky. He was born on October 25, 1940, to the late William Dorsey Creech and the late Ada Thelma King Creech. Wendell was a dedicated farmer and logger, whose hands were weathered from years of hard work in the fields and forests. Throughout his life, he drove a coal truck and a gravel truck, hauling materials that were vital to the community, and he skillfully maneuvered a school bus for the Wolfe County Board of Education, ensuring the safety of children on their daily journeys. His mechanical skills shone through during his time at Brewer’s Chevrolet, where he readily tackled repairs and brought vehicles back to life. A natural craftsman at heart, Wendell found immense joy in carpentry. His vegetable garden was a labor of love, blossoming with vibrant produce that he often transformed into delicious meals in his kitchen. Known for his infectious humor, he had the unique ability to captivate listeners with his storytelling, weaving tales that would leave everyone in stitches. Wendell was a man of great patience, always willing to lend an ear or a helping hand. His talent for impersonating different people brought laughter to gatherings, and it was his caring and loving nature that endeared him to all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Wendell is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Briscoe Creech; one daughter, Kathy Creech Bolin; two step-daughters, Carolyn Carpenter and Robin White; three brothers: Arnold Creech, Roy Creech, and Glen Creech; three sisters: Bonnie Legg, Betty Chambers, and Gracie Parks; and three grandchildren: Christopher Donathon, Stephanie Cole, and Samantha Creech. He is survived by one son, James Eddie Creech of Beattyville; one step-son, Ernie Jamison of Rogers; one daughter, Brenda Creech of Rogers; two brothers, Curt (Dianne) Creech of Dayton, Ohio, and Edward Creech of Rogers; one brother-in-law, Gary Parks of Rogers; one sister, Ruby Sparks of Hazel Green; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Creech Cemetery in Rogers, Kentucky. Burial service, officiated by Bro. Paul Spencer will be held at 2:30 P.M. at the cemetery with Aaron Tolson, Kevin Donathon, Shawn Donathon, Joshua Hollon, Timothy Creech, and Adam Cole serving as active pallbearers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
