Orban Richmond Burnett

Orban Richmond Burnett, age 85, of Stanton, KY passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort. Born in Powell County on March 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Paul Burnett and the late Nora Elam Burnett. Orban, known as Tommy to many, was a tobacco farmer, a logger and operated bulldozers. He was very good to his family and he loved his wife and his children very much. Orban had a very agreeable and happy presence about him but at the same time he was a very strong and fearless man. He loved to work in his vegetable garden and grow lovely flowers. In addition to his parents, Orban was preceded in death by two brothers: Otis Eugene Burnett and Chester Clay Burnett and two sisters: Fay McMann and Jill Burnett. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Snowden Burnett; one son, Timothy Joe (Darlene) Burnett of Jeffersonville; two daughters: Melissa Roberts and Jennifer (Ranjeet) Singh both of Stanton; one sister, Mina Dawson of Wilmington, OH; six grandchildren: Kevin Roberts, Rebekah Burnett, Rylie Neace, Zachariah Burnett, Julianna Burnett and Gabriel Helseth and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services officiated by Anthony Molihan will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rogers Cemetery in Clay City with Timothy Joe Burnett, Ranjeet Singh, Kevin Roberts, Mark Dawson, Rodney Snowden, Frank Snowden, Gary Snowden and Nila Roscoe Barnes serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Amedisys Home Health and Palliative Care Partners, Rodney and Sandra Lewis, Zachariah Burnett, Jullianna Burnett, Rebekah Burnett, Rylie Neace, Gabriel Helseth, Brenda Tipton, Betty Sue Townsend and Lois and Jason Bailey. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home, Inc. of Stanton.
