Phillip Todd

Phillip Douglas Todd of Stanton, passed away at his home on February 22, 2023. He was 73 years old. Phillip was born on October 7, 1949 in Clay City, Kentucky to the late P D and the late Wilma Kincaid Todd. He was an avid car enthusiast who restored many classic Chevrolets in his lifetime. Phillip was incredibly skilled in auto mechanics, body work and painting and always had a project in the garage. He enjoyed car shows with his buddies, trips to the Smoky Mountains and coaching his sons in basketball and baseball when they were young. In later years, he spent time traveling to watch his grandsons play basketball and football and most recently looked forward to spending afternoons with his granddaughter after school. Phillip worked hard his whole life. He retired from Burke-Parsons-Bowlby after thirty-plus years of dedicated service. He was also a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Phillip is survived by his wife, Virginia Anne Derickson Todd; one daughter, Ginny Rebecca Todd Hays and her husband Brad; two sons: Phillip Derickson Todd and Justin Thomas Todd; two grandsons: Dalton Todd Hays and Declan Bradley Hays; one granddaughter, Jacie Thomas Todd and siblings Savannah Smego and Xavier Laws. Other surviving family members include three sisters: Gloria Todd Carr and husband Sam, Mary Todd Jutras and husband Mark and Kathy Todd Merriman and husband Mark; one brother, Paul Duane Todd and wife Mariam and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services officiated by Rev. Kim Rose will be conducted on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue in Stanton. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home as well. Burial will be held at Stonegate Cemetery in Stanton with Derick Todd, Justin Todd, Brad Hays, Dalton Hays, Declan Hays and David Marcum serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Butch Morris, Lonnie Brown, Ernest Foster, Everett Todd, Phil Hays, Billy Todd and James Thelander. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
